"I was killed in the field of battle" By Anla-Shok I was killed in the field of battle On a cold winter day. Your bullet pierced my lonely heart And I felt life slip away. I staggered, and fell to my knees Upon the glistening snow. Thoughts rushed in and out of my mind As time began to slow. I thought of what I'd done wrong, Why I fell to thee. Of what I would do if I could do it again, Questions and answers came to me. I knew now just where to look, And saw other places to run. 'Twas a lesson learned but learned too late. For my time had already come. And as I fell I saw your face, The one who sent me to my grave. I'd never forget what you'd done to me: You triumph a coward, whilst I die brave. I collapsed on the ground and breathed my last, The darkness swam over me. But as I thought that all was lost, I opened my eyes, and found I could see. I have returned, behind our lines, Healthy, warm, and fed. I am no ghost, no trick, no saint, Just a mere mortal, back from the dead. I walk out to the field again, My heart beating once more. My lessons pass before my eyes, As I journey to settle the score. I was killed on the field of battle, And now I stand where I fell. Returned, I have, and shall face you again. And send you straight to hell.
